Our school had a fantastic time taking part in a pond dipping activity with Wendy today. The children were full of excitement as they explored the pond habitat and discovered the fascinating creatures living beneath the water’s surface. Everyone eagerly searched for pond life and carefully examined their findings.
The children were thrilled to spot a variety of mini beasts, including waterlouse, water boatmen, snails, fairy shrimp, common pond skater and tadpoles. Wendy shared lots of interesting facts about the importance of ponds for wildlife and explained how these habitats support biodiversity in our environment.
The activity provided a wonderful opportunity for hands-on learning outdoors. The children worked together brilliantly, showing great curiosity, teamwork and respect for nature throughout the session. It was lovely to see such enthusiasm and excitement as they investigated the different species and learned more about life in and around the pond.
A huge thank you to Wendy, Liz and Suzanne for providing such an engaging and educational experience for the children. It was a memorable day enjoyed by all!
