Under the guidance of Wendy Nairn, our school organic garden has flourished this season, producing a bounty of fresh, healthy vegetables and herbs that the children have enjoyed.
The garden harvest is an exciting opportunity for students to see the fruits of their labour. This hands-on experience teaches them the importance of knowing where our food comes from and the rewards of nurturing the earth.
In addition to harvesting, we’re also retrieving seeds from the healthiest plants to prepare for next year’s garden. By collecting seeds from our best crops, we ensure a sustainable cycle, promoting plant diversity and reducing our environmental footprint. Seed saving is a time-honored tradition that empowers students to take an active role in the future of our garden.
As we close this chapter, we look forward to another successful planting season—one that continues to grow the love for organic gardening, environmental stewardship, and healthy eating.
